5 days in Rome

Rome... more than 2500 years old city of history, culture, monuments and fountains.
All millions of tourists!!! I cannot even imagine how many tourists there are in the pick season!
Almost unscratched by the World War II, is a great proof the development of our civilization.
My 5 'must see' places:
Pantheon by night, Colosseum, Forum Romanum and incredible Catacombs of Sant Agnes.

One can ask: what about Vatican? Well, it is incredible how great collection of various treasurers the Church manged to 'steel' over the ages... Just incredible...

Some steps forward...

It was fuc...g cold and wet in Bergen! 10 degrees less than here plus wind and rain... Well not a very worm welcome!!! But we did fine, quite a lot of walking to see the area and even found some time to see the penguins :-) Cute guys!!!
TBBE was obviously not as enthusiastic as I was after the first visit there, but I think that he has accepted the place and maybe even liked it a bit.

The contract is signed. It looks like we will have a very small place to stay in the beginning, a flat belonging to the University, but considering the size of the room (28sqm), I do not think that we will stay there for longer...

Anyway, still thousands of things to organize and only 2.5 months left to the beginning of my new challenge...

The biggest question is if TBBE will find himself there...

Project: Norway

A bit more than one month ago I was offered a PhD position in Bergen, Norway.

The Best Boyfriend Ever (TBBE) said: 'I knew it... Ok, we go to Norway!' 5 seconds after I called him to announce the results of the interview...

So it was decided - we started a new project: project NORWAY!!!

Porject NORWAY consist of the following phases:
  1. Preparation:
    • Imagining how it will be, talking, talking, talking,
    • Reading forums, trying to understand how much life in Norway cost, etc
    • More reading... what papers we need (Norway is not EU), do we need 2 cars, etc..
    • More reading... where will we live, how will we move, when, where is my contract?
  2. Planning and a bit of implementation:
  3. Real implementation:
  4. Goodbye Italy = Norway - we are comming!
  5. Piece of cake or surviaval lesson?
  6. Reflections...

We go to Bergen together this weekend. I hope that TBBE will like it as much as I liked it at the first time. It will rain half of the weekend so it should be a very representative sample of the norwegian weather ;-)
